Hank Green is sharing an incredible update about his health.
Three months after the YouTuber shared he was diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma, a cancer strain that affects the body's lymphatic system, the 43-year-old learned during his first post-treatment follow-up that he is now in "complete remission."
"Chance of relapse is low, but still very present," he wrote on X, formerly know as Twitter, Aug. 21. "I have a scan in three months to make sure everything's still good. Then we keep a close eye on it for two years and then a medium eye on it for the rest of my life. They don't call it 'cure' until five years from today."
Though Hank—who is the younger brother of author John Green—is still taking it one day at a time, he is grateful for the development.
"There's dealing with post-treatment health, which is certainly not perfect," he wrote, "You don't get out unscathed! Still working through some pain, some fatigue, migraines...anxiety, of course. But honestly...holy s--t y'all. Feels good."
In May, Hank shared details of his diagnosis in a YouTube video, explaining that he sought medical attention after noticing that his lymph nodes became enlarged.
"I talked to my doctor," he said in his video posted May 19. "She says, 'Probably nothing, will send you in for an ultrasound.' Got an ultrasound. The tech in the ultrasound room was like, 'I'm gonna go get a doctor.' And that's not what you want to have happen."
However, Hank noted in the video's description that the cancer "has not spread anywhere from its original location in my left armpit/chest area, which is very good news."
At the time, Hank also explained that he and his brother, 45, didn't have any concrete plans for their shared YouTube channel moving forward, sharing that they planned to "play it by ear."
"We'll figure it out as we go one day at a time," Hank said. "And I continue to be extraordinarily grateful for so many of the things in my life, including this."
